Dispatch Master Delay & Reverb

The Dispatch Master has become one of our most beloved pedals because of the reverb and delay combo. This device is small but has gigantic, heavenly sounds! In some degree The Dispatch Master was inspired by a limited run device we made called the Ghost Disaster Delay. Good luck finding one. If you can't, The Dispatch Master is not in short supply.

The Dispatch Master has grown to be one of the most popular and versatile delay/reverb pedals on the market. Loved for both its small size and lush sound, the Dispatch Master is capable of producing up to 1.5 seconds of delay time with near-infinite repeats and a cavernous reverb. The delay signal is clear and strong with no after effects or signal degradation and the repeats decay into a nice ambient swell with no oscillation. The reverb is MASSIVE and is sure to please those who love our Ghost Echo but want more modern depth and less artifacts. Both effects can be run separately or in unison. When using the reverb with no delay, the repeats control can be used to thicken up the reverb and give it more dimension. The Dispatch Master features a digital delay and reverb line with an all analog direct signal path and true bypass switching.

Time: Sets the delay time, from 0ms to 1.5 seconds.

Repeats: Controls the regeneration of the delayed signal. Also acts as a enhancer for the reverb. In reverb mode this will control the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb.

Reverb: Clockwise for more reverb, counterclockwise for less.

Mix: Adjusts the over all level of the effected signal.

To use as a reverb only, turn the time control all the way down and adjust the reverb and mix controls to taste. In this mode, the repeats control can be used to enhance the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb. With the reverb control at its maximum setting, the repeats control will gradually overload the effect at higher settings.

To use as a delay only, turn the reverb control all the way down and adjust the time, repeats and mix controls to taste.

To use both effects in unison, adjust all controls to taste.

True bypass and hand made one at a time in landlocked Akron, Ohio.

Levitation Reverb

Psychedelic Rock can be a mind-altering experience that can take you to another level by using sounds like backwards tapes, phasing, delay loops and extreme reverb.

Introducing the Levitation reverb, a pedal designed by EarthQuaker Devices in conjunction with the LEVITATION music festival! LEVITATION, founded as Austin Psych Fest in 2008, has become a way to honor and preserve Austin’s psychedelic rock heritage, and carry it into the future. We wanted to remain true to the theme of LEVITATION and decided to do a variation on our popular Ghost Echo pedal to honor the reverb-drenched tones synonymous with classic psych rock. The Levitation Reverb builds on the base sound found in the Ghost Echo but does away with the attack and dwell and adds control over tone, decay, atmosphere and length in their place. It is a vintage voiced reverb that aims to fit somewhere between dirty sixties chambers, classic spring, and the big, ringing plate reverbs of days gone by.

Four knobs and one switch control quite a bit more than you’d expect. Want a slap back small room sound? Set all of your controls to the minimum and use the mix to dial in the sound of room devoid of anything but a guitar and amp. Want to revel in infinite spatial oscillations? Flip the toggle to long, turn up the atmosphere and decay then tune out. Dial in a bright chiming slap back by turning the tone all the way counter clockwise and reducing the decay. For a rattling, full-bandwidth assault, dime everything and let ‘er rip.

Each Levitation Reverb is built entirely by hand in Akron, Ohio by EarthQuaker Devices. It will be officially released at LEVITATION on May 8th, 2015 and available at the merchandise booth all weekend.

Dunes - Mini Mega Ultimate Overdrive

Another Overdrive? Well, kinda. The Dunes is more like a baby Palisades. Aww!

The Dunes is a condensed version of our highly popular Palisades; a heavily featured take on the classic 808 overdrive. It features the same Gain, Tone and Level controls along with our favorite voice and bandwidth settings as well as the “Normal/Bright” toggle. The selectable voices are: “MOSFET” for a tight crunchy sound (Setting 3 on the Palisades), “Silicon” for the classic 808 sound (Setting 5 on the Palisades) and “None” which goes from clean boost to gritty, pure opamp distortion with a massive volume boost (Setting 1 on the Palisades). The two bandwidth settings are “stock” for the classic tone (Setting 3 on the Palisades) and “full range” for more low end (Setting 5 on the Palisades). The Dunes has all the great tone of the big boy Palisades but with a simplified interface and a smaller footprint!

The Tentacle Analog Octave Up

No knobs?! What the heck does it do? We assure you that The Tentacle is not just another pretty face in the crowd.

The Tentacle is a classic analog octave up effect. It is the very same octave from our beloved Hoof Reaper pedal. We got so many requests to make this a stand-alone unit that we just had to make it a reality. You can now add an excellent, swelling octave up to anything your heart desires! Pair it with your favorite fuzz, strap on a headband and unleash your inner Jammy Hendrix. Put it in front of another octave up and blow your amp's mind. Throw it in the effects loop of a delay and marvel at what happens (then tell us, we’d like to know too). What’s better? It has no controls! Nothing to worry about at all here, just hit the switch and go for it. The Tentacle is an analog octave up, the effect will become much more pronounced when using your neck pickup and playing above the 12th fret.

New Devices for Summer NAMM 2015

Read about all of our new devices below and visit us during NAMM at booth # 1136!

Interstellar Orbiter • Dual Resonant Filter

The Interstellar Obiter was specially designed for Kid Koala to be used on his Satellite Concert tour. The idea for the Satellite concert is very ambitious: each audience member will be seated at one of 60 mini turntable stations that will include a small crate of color coded custom vinyl. Each record contains a drone that is designed to harmonize with key moments in the show being performed on stage by Kid Koala. Each record player will be run through an effect pedal and allow the audience to individually manipulate the sounds in real time…. I mean, how could we say no to that!?! After a lots and lots of testing the records through various types of effects, we landed on the Interstellar Orbiter!
So what is it? The Interstellar Orbiter is a dual resonant filter controlled by a single LFO that sweeps each filter in opposite directions. It has three universal controls: a master Frequency control that governs the center frequency of both filters, a master Rate control for the LFO and the Direct control for blending in the unaffected dry signal. There are expression pedal jacks for both the master Frequency and the LFO rate. The LFO sweeps each filter in opposite directions and has a wide range. Each filter is voiced differently and has controls for LFO intensity, resonance and mix. When the LFO Intensity is raised the filter sweep is wider, the center frequency is raised and the resonance becomes more pronounced. The resonance becomes more “ringy” as you dial it up and more mellow as you dial it back. The mix control adjusts the volume for the mix of each filter.
With all of this control, the Interstellar Orbiter is a knob twiddler’s dream with loads of possibilities! It can do everything from wah emulation to complex vocal formant filter and even a fairly convincing rotary speaker effect. You can set the intensity of both filters to zero and use the Frequency to manually create wide filter sweeps or use an expression pedal for a unique wah tones. Adjust the intensity of one filter to taste and use an expression pedal to sweep the second to create some awesome moving center point phase effects. You can also create some very vocal sounds by using the LFO to control both filters and fine tuning the resonance, intensity and master frequency. These vocal formants will vary depending the settings of each individual control and the rate at which they are swept! These are just a few suggestions, the Interstellar Orbiter is vast; get ready to get free.
The Interstellar Orbiter is all analog, true bypass and hand made one at a time, part by part, knob by knob, wire by damn wire in the fiery town of Akron, Ohio and features artwork drawn by Kid Koala himself!

Circuits to Cure Cancer

We are happy to be one of the many manufacturers involved with this fantastic cause! We are donating pedals in honor of our dear friends Dan Van Auken, Steve Caynon and Danny Juba.

Circuits to Cure Cancer is a group of guitar pedal builders, retailers, reviewers, and musicians who have donated either their products or their time to help raise money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Please take a minute to look around the website to see some of the fantastic people/companies that have been involved in making this event possible.

From May 30th-June 7th, a series of guitar effects pedals will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Last year we raised over $30,000, and this year is looking even more promising already. You know you want to purchase guitar pedals, so why not help children in need at the same time?

Danstravaganza

One June 20th and 21st of this year, the Greater Akron and Wadsworth communities are coming together to honor a man we lost far too young.  His name was Dan Van Auken, a fifth grade math teacher for Wadsworth Central Intermediate school until last summer, when he lost a battle with brain cancer at the age of 34 and left behind many friends in the communities that he lived and worked in.

As an avid long distance runner, it was well-know that Dan was always preparing for a 5k, 10k, half or full marathon.  Because of his commitment to his school and his passion for running, Dan’s fellow teachers have received permission from the City of Wadsworth to name a field after him, and build a running track that students can use for years to come.

While Dan’s students and fellow teachers carry out their own fundraisers for this construction project, myself and Julie Robbins (co-owner of Earthquaker Devices) have put together the Danstravanganza Concert, a two night event featuring the bands Drummer and Houseguest.  These bands are made up of Dan’s friends, and they have also had a substantial presence in Akron for the last decade.  Drummer features Patrick Carney (drummer for The Black Keys) on bass guitar, and these two performances will be their first in over 5 years.

The first night of the concert is being held at Tangier, and sold out in 3 days (that’s 400 tickets!).  The second night is taking place at Musica in Downtown Akron and tickets are still available.  In order to raise as much money as possible for Wadsworth CIS, we are hoping you will consider donating an item for our raffle, or a monetary gift in any amount to our fund for Dan Van Auken Field.   All donated items will be featured in our event booklet, as will all Platinum Level Sponsors ($1000 and more), Gold Level Sponsors ($500 to $999), and Silver Level Sponsors ($100 to $499).  Your business will also be allowed to advertise by giving out to our audiences any promotional items that you want to provide (t-shirts, coupons, magnets, stickers, etc).  Please make all sponsorship checks out to our event treasurer, Julie Robbins.

Powering Your Palisades

To all current and future Palisades owners: The first 400 Palisades say 9-18v. Some things changed between the prototype and production phase that no longer allow the palisades to operate correctly at 18v. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. In all honesty, it sounds way better at 9v than 18v anyhow.

Palisades- Mega Ultimate Maximum Overdrive Classic

Available Exclusively from Pro Guitar Shop, click here to order!

The Palisades is something we said we would never do… an overdrive based on the legendary TS808! Gasp! The horror! Another tubes creamer?? In 2014?? Really?? After loads of requests we finally buckled. We ran tests with every popular clone on the market as well as several vintage originals, compared, contrasted and took loads of notes. It was exhausting but informative. In the end, we threw it all away, used our ears and came up with what we feel is the most versatile relative of the 808 available today.

With 6 different clipping voices, 5 bandwidth settings and 2 gain channels you will be hard-pressed to not find a setting that will wipe every mid-boosting overdrive off your board. The clipping voices determine how transparent and open or tight and crunchy the distortion is. They will vary drastically depending on where the gain is set, what channel is active and how much bandwidth is being used. The bandwidth sets the frequency response of the distortion and goes from thin, light and clean through fat heavy and crunchy. It may very well be the single most important control the palisades has and what really sets it apart.

Gain A is a lower gain channel with a wider range of grit that is great for strumming open chords. Gain B is a higher gain channel with a tighter range that is great for palm muting and/or shredding solos. The Palisades also has a foot switchable volume boost with adjustable level to take it over the top when you want to throw your foot up on the monitor and rip your sweet leads… or maybe just push the front end of you amp a little harder. Not enough? How about a normal/bright switch to mix and match the overall tone to different amps and guitars. Still not enough? OK then, how about a buffer on/off switch to tighten up the tone and make it sparkle when set to “ON” or warm it up and make it sag when set to “OFF”.

The Palisades is a versatile dude that will give you years of loving companionship. Each Palisades is hand made one at a time in the tiny tree house community of Akron, Ohio.
