Chris Chaney grew up in Mill Valley California and has been playing bass for over 35 years. As a session player, he has played on tons of records and soundtracks, and with artists such as Slash, Chris Cornell, Joe Cocker, Shakira, Elton John, Glen Campbell, Iggy Pop, Perry Farrell, Ozzy Osbourne, Sara Bareilles, Carly Simon, Alanis Morissette,  Melissa Etheridge, Beth Hart, Joe Satriani, Robben Ford, Regina Spektor, Santana, Gavin DeGraw, Miley Cyrus, John Fogerty and many more. He has played on over a hundred soundtracks such as The Hangover Trilogy, Horrible Bosses, Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, The Campaign, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Get Him To The Greek, Transformers, Men In Black, Baywatch, Dinner For Schmucks, Identity Thief, Fifty Shades of Gray and many more. Chris did the world tour with Alanis Morissette for her debut record Jagged Little Pill and continued touring and playing with her on 4 albums and several soundtracks. He was a member of Jane’s Addiction from 2002-2022. Chris met Taylor Hawkins in 1995 and had an instant chemistry as a rhythm section. Over the course of 27 years until his recent passing they wrote and recorded three Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Riders records and had started another group with Dave Navarro called NHC with a record still set to be released.
