Pedal City, pt. 3 - Awesome effects combos

I was drawn to EarthQuaker Devices' darker offerings - the Afterneath and Grand Orbiter phaser being the first I tried to incorporate to my board - my literal wooden board I Velcro pedals to. These were great for staging dramatic climaxes where we would fall completely apart in every direction, trying desperately to push one another over the edge, only to end up at the same intersection, staring each other in the eyes. That's good fun and good fun can only take you so far as a pedal - it doesn't earn you a place on my rock plank.  Which would I integrate for the long haul, which one would grab peoples' upper arms and pull them in from the smoking patio? I brought on the Dispatch Master as soon as I played it. It's a delay that you almost can't tell I am using, til the song ends and it reflects out like my hands being pushed up one last time before the next song begins. I love it, it stays.

The next pedal that smacked me in the forehead and made me say FINALLY was the Speaker Cranker. I don't use the Speaker Cranker. I don't need the Speaker Cranker. As mentioned I am a classic Peavey girl, so I have little to no necessity for a pedal that gives you that extra hot, dirty crackle just hovering there, giving the impression your speakers could at the point rip themselves apart. This is a sound that I fell in love with as soon as I plugged into my Classic X Peavey combo. I cherish it and would be lost without it. Which is why I keep this pedal behind glass. You see, Peavey isn't going to make any more of these amps, time travel isn't a option, and my house is already overflowing with equipment. Should the instance present itself, I am ready with my Speaker Cranker to carry the torch, should uncivlization as we know it fail, that dirt on the mirror when you run your hand across it presents who you really are.

Sometimes a pedal is only truly exceptional when paired with another. Don't misunderstand me, the Night Wire, one of the newest pedals EQD brought out at Winter NAMM is cool. Combined with a organ modulation pedal, it is unbelievable. I love my organ pedal because I love DEEP PURPLE, space truckin' DEEP PURPLE. Upon finding out about these organ pedals, I demanded someone who really loves me buy it for my birthday. PAPA BEAR and GG answered the call. I was in love right away, I found a couple solos it worked with in my set and initially thought it's cool, not mind blowing, sometimes you are just cool, cool. Here's where the Night Wire walked in wearing Ray-Bans in a dark bar and smoking a cigarette. I was writing a solo for a new song and thought it might help me come up with some cool ideas and cool is okay. Right? I left the organ pedal engaged and that's when the magic happened. Without question if you combine these two elements you will bake a cake, then proceed have sex with that cake for money. You keep your dirty money, I enjoyed fucking this cake way too much.
