EarthQuaker Session Ep. 25: TOKIE, Hirohisa Horie & Shigekazu Aida from LOSALIOS

The first EQD Session made in Japan is from TOKIE, Hirohisa Horie, and Shigekazu Aida from LOSALIOS! A session from those who have been supporting the Japanese music scene for a long time. TOKIE creates a strong swell with her favorite Sea Machine and Hummingbird on the first jamming section and leaves Tone Job on to mach her bass tone to the room. And a tone character of her Warwick bass and Plumes together makes punchy tone and it cuts thru the center of the mix. Hirohisa adds Palisades on the beats he made giving a thick analog textured drum feel to it. For his keyboards, he mainly manipulates Data Corrupter and Grand Orbiter among the other pedals. It’s literally “Modulation Madness”! Shigekazu utilizes two different overdrive tones by using Gray Channel and Westwood. The dub/raggae modulated delay and reverb you hear on the first part of the song is created with Disaster Transport SR and you can see his beloved Ibanez Swell Flanger too. Then those are controlled with the loop feature on Swiss Things.

Filmed at Tuppence House I’s Studio, Tokyo, Japan.
