EarthQuaker Session: Low
Guest User
Low set up shop at EarthQuaker Studios to lay down two spine-tingling songs off of their newest SubPop release, “Double Negative”. Afterneath makes a big appearance here, playing an ominous character in both Alan and Steve’s guitar and bass set-ups, respectively. Vocals by both Mimi and Alan are drenched in Avalanche Run reverb, adding to those haunting verbal expressions of the band we love so well. In “Tempest”, Alan gives us a great example of how “magic” can be momentarily added with the Rainbow Machine, brought in and out to launch or land whatever vessel you may be navigating.
Here they are, 25 years after the band’s inception; fierce, and intent on commanding your brain to hold on for dear life as you join the journey. The intense textures that the group is so well known for are very prevalent on “Double Negative”, Low’s 8th full length album. Be sure to catch them on tour this spring beginning March 8th.
